The Plane

The sun’s rays filtered through the sea of clouds, beams of golden light breaking through a blanket of light grey. A sense of calm rested on the land that rolled on and on below me. The plane was quiet, the only sounds being the soft “shhh....shhh” of rustling clothing and the music that played in my ears. It was sunrise and though I realized I would not see its glow as I had hoped due to the clouds, the shafts of light breaking through them were silent spectacles on their own. But I knew that the world spun too quickly, too soon and I would have to leave this serenely silent atmosphere. “Let me rest here a while longer” I thought, as the music lulled me into a dreamless sleep.
